Dogs for Rehoming

Arnie
Breed: German Shepherd Crossbreed
Sex: Male
Age: 1 Year Approx
Arnie is a big handsome lad who came to us for rehoming as he didn’t make the grade for a security dog! When he was purchased as a pup the intention was to train him to become a private security dog, however it soon became apparent that he was far too friendly… he never started any of the training as he was too young, and it was decided that Arnie needed to go somewhere else, where he could be a pet! The alternative was euthanasia, but thankfully we had space!
Arnie has never really lived in a home.. his ‘home’ was a crate in a van! So we are unsure what he will be like in a house initially… however he’s just a baby, so should adapt easily! We are unsure whether he would be housetrained etc. Arnie has had some basic training, but definitely isn’t lead trained… he’s very strong and pully to walk, but we are in the process of halti training.
He is the softest boy you could meet! He’s super friendly and playful… he still runs and acts like a puppy, despite his size! Watching him get zoomies is very entertaining! He loves toys, especially squeakies.. and will play for hours if you’s let him. He’s affectionate and loves a fuss.. he will make a brilliant companion! He has never been around children, but could live with older children who are dog-savvy.
Whilst on site in his last home, Arnie has been used to playing with other large dogs, he was described as being very playful and sociable… he seems interested in the other dogs here with us, and looks like he wants to play! He could possibly share his home with a good natured female companion. He’s not used to cats.
Experience of Shepherd type breeds would be ideal.
