Dogs for Rehoming

Jackson

Breed: German Shepherd Crossbreed

Sex: Male

Age: 7 Months Approx

Jackson is a lovely young lad who came to us for rehoming through no fault of his own. He was part of an accidental litter, and his owner decided to keep him and his Sister, unfortunately Jackson and his Dad ended up clashing, and the owner didn’t have the time to devote to all of the dogs.

Jackson is a sensitive little soul, who finds most things quite scary! It appears he’s not been exposed to much during his puppyhood, but he is coping with the kennels well so far. When he arrived with us, he was very nervous and didn’t want to engage with anybody… now, whilst he is still very shy, he has started to trust us and loves nothing more than a cuddle!

He enjoys getting out on his walks, which is great for him! He’s being exposed to lots of new sights, sounds and smells as well as plenty of people and other dogs. He enjoys his time off lead in our exercise compounds, but tends to prefer to follow you around rather than go off to play. He seems to bond quickly with people, which should make training pretty straightforward – he wants to please!

Jackson is still very young, and hasn’t really had much in the way of training so far… any adopters would need to bear in mind that he’s still a big puppy, and will require housetraining etc. He could possibly live with a female dog of a similar size or larger, but this would depend on a dog meeting. He’s not used to cats, but he did seem nervous of them on his cat test… he may be able to share his home with a confident cat that’s used to dogs, with slow introductions.

Whilst he is a friendly, loving boy with people he trusts, he can be very nervous when meeting people and has been known to snap if he feels threatened. Jackson hasn’t been used to children… we feel that he would be better suited to a home with older children at the moment.

Jackson’s mum is a small GSD crossbreed, his dad is apparently a Rottweiler/Staffordshire Bull Terrier.
