Our Rehoming Process
The first step is to complete the Dog Adoption Enquiry form, which asks some questions about yourself, your home and everybody else who lives there, including other pets. This will enable us to help you choose which dog might be the perfect match for you and your family. It can be very sad for both you and the dog you choose if it does not work out. Please click on the button below to fill in the form.
If we think that we have a dog that would be the ideal companion for you, we will give you a call to discuss your enquiry further and make an appointment for you to come and meet the dog.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL VISITS TO THE ARK ARE BY PRIOR APPOINTMENT.

General Information and Cost of Adoption
All of our dogs will have been health checked, micro-chipped, fully vaccinated, will be up to date with flea and worming treatments and come with 4 weeks Petplan veterinary insurance, if eligible. All male dogs are neutered prior to rehoming and we will cover the cost for bitches to be spayed when the time is right. This is discussed on an individual basis and it is a condition of adoption that this is done. On adoption, we ask for a minimum payment as shown below to help towards the costs of the care that we provide.
- Adult dog (over 12 months) £275(we may offer a discretionary reduction for older dogs)
- Puppy (under 12 months) £300
When we rehome a dog it is on the basis that the home is permanent. It is a condition of adoption that, if an owner is unable to keep the dog for any reason, they must undertake not to sell or pass it on to another owner without our prior consent in writing and we may then require the dog to be returned to us.
Choosing Your Dog
We completely understand that personal preference is very important when choosing your new companion, but try to keep an open mind and give some thought to the type of dog that might fit in best with your household, your job and lifestyle, children and any other animals. We will give you as much information and advice as we can about the dogs, including the assessments and observations we have made whilst they are at The Ark. All our dogs have one thing in common……they have no home to call their own, nor that special, loving bond with a human. That’s where you come in. Once both you and the Rehoming Officer are happy with your choice, we will arrange with you how and when to take your new friend home.
PLEASE REMEMBER THAT ALL VISITS TO THE ARK ARE STRICTLY BY APPOINTMENT
